In April 2017, I participated in the Sherwin Williams Student Design Challenge, in which I tried my hand at interior design, another passion of mine.  This contest was a great experience.  I enjoyed the process of finding the right colors to enhance a space, as well as the right furniture and accent pieces.  The space I designed below, was an earlier layout for the lobby of the Pigeon Key Research Center.  Though the architecture of the room is inherently tropical – walls of louvered doors and natural stone accents – the design of the room enhances its intended style.  I used six (6) different colors to further relay a tropical feel to the room.  These six colors were placed strategically so that it would not be overwhelming and each color would be in harmony.
